4 Days

Day 1


                    On a bright, cloudless spring day, the city is loud and bustling with the people on their daily commutes, and activities. This city has a large unique array of citizens, each with their own past, hopes, aspirations, goals, struggles, and each has their own future. In this large cluster of unique individuals, there were three in particular, that there struggles shall taken notice of. Down into the local park for recreational activities, there was a small family, an elderly man with his two grandchildren and their pet beagle. One sister and one brother, the sister being fairly young, still just a child, while the brother was more mature, he was a young adult. The two however, were not true siblings, they shared a father, but not a mother, they were just as close as any other sibling though. The brother sat with his grandfather on the bench as the sister played in the fields with the beagle.

Today, was one of many special days, as the elderly man, was getting on in his years; his body and mind were beginning to fail him. The two grandchildren had begun visiting him more, and more often, bringing him comfort in what may be his final years. But for the time being, it was good. The elderly man was happy; the girl was full of child-like glee. The boy, however, was more clouded by the reality of the situation. He tried to ignore it as he discussed with his grandfather about various stories from each others personal lives. When the girl tired, she returned to her brother and the canine tiredly trotted over to the trio. The four of them altogether had departed shortly afterwards to seek out a noontime meal. Off far from this incident were dark clouds rolling in. The dog stopped at a sharp notice, his tail raised and his fur rising in anxiety. The boy dismisses it as a thunderstorm coming in later today, but for the moment, it was still light, and the sky filled with blue. He tugged at the dog's collar, edging it to keep going. The dog, however, scratched at the elder’s leg, whimpering softly. They all realized that the elder man was about to suffer from another seizure. Now, panicked, the elder frantically searched his person for his medicine. The girl, being the designated one to carry it, calmly took it from her pocket and delivered it to her grandfather who promptly took it from her and swallowed the pills. The boy and grandfather breath a sigh of relief, though, the elder feels weak. The boy gives the dog over to his sister and offers to take his grandfather to the nearby community building to rest. Together the boy and his grandfather go inside the building and sit down on some chairs inside. The girl leaves the two of them to regain their energy as she walks the beagle around to the park. Inside the municipal building, the grandfather apologizes for the inconvenience to the boy. The boy dismisses it.

The grandfather advises that the boy leave him and take his sister for food and come back while the man rests. The boy nods and leaves his grandfather at the municipal building. He waited there for his sister to return, they left the dog in the grandfathers care and together went into the city to get lunch.
